Don Pangman, former CEO of HSBC James Capel, transitioned to charitable work after his 30-year career on Bay Street. In 2009, he founded ArtHouse, a Halton-based charity offering free arts programs to children and youth aged 7-17 who lack access to extracurricular activities. Celebrating its 15th anniversary in June 2024, ArtHouse has provided 870 programs to over 11,500 young people at 90 locations in Halton. Don has received several accolades, including Rotary International's Paul Harris Award, the United Way Chair’s Award, the McPhie Award, Oakville’s Community Spirit Award in the Arts, and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012.
Shannon Tobin has devoted 12 years to youth empowerment and community development. Since 2021, DTBY has provided free peer support programs for 14-24 year olds to enhance life skills, build healthy relationships, and foster community impact. In 2023, DTBY served over 1,950 students from 48 high schools in Halton, Hamilton, and the GTHA. The organization won the 2024 Mayor’s Award for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion and Shannon has received multiple accolades, including the “Honoring 150 Years of Exemplary Women” Award and a Bronze STEVIE Award.
